About Me
Hi, I'm Yev! I live in Calgary, Alberta.
The Canadian Rockies are my backyard, and I spend most of my free time out in the mountains.
Hiking, backpacking, skiing, and driving too. Hours on the highway, early mornings, and late returns. It's part of it, even when it's not fun.
I approach the mountains like an engineer. Analytics, strategic planning, route optimization. Every trip is a problem to solve: weather windows, water sources, camp locations, bail-out options. I treat trails the way I treat systems. Plan well, execute better, and learn from what goes wrong.
I'm all for efficiency and going ultralight. Bring less, do more. Cut the weight, keep what matters. A lighter pack means longer days, more flexibility, and less suffering on the climbs.
This site is where I share trip reports, gear thoughts, and lessons from the backcountry. I hope you find something useful here.
See you on the trail!
